Reading and Writing

Understanding the Processes

Our experienced teachers and tutors in literacy can identify key issues in a child's understanding and work with him/her to overcome these issues to improve their reading and understanding of what is being read.

We use a variety of tools to engage students in the reading and writing processes, including activities and games for phonics and phonemes, outdoor or online activities and worksheets. Some of the fields we cover (depending on need) include:

* phonemes and phonics

* grammar and punctuation

* spelling

* figurative language

* sentence theory

* comprehension techniques

* writing for different purposes

* reading fluency

Our tutors believe in working at the core issues, and through support, we work to develop the student's belief in themselves, often an underpinning problem preventing them from succeeding.

We cater for different types of learners. Whether a child is a quiet bookworm, or has a short attention span, we consider the individual in planning the content of our sessions.

Our tutors are familiar with educational challenges such as ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dysgraphia and Irlens. We always cater for any difficulties our students have and will teach them in the most effective way possible.

We even have availability for outdoor learning activities for the outdoor child!

We have a variety of online subscriptions that allow for game activities at home to reinforce work learnt in the studio in a fun and active way. We never use a generic program for students, and, as a result, our students enjoy visiting our studio and learn to develop faith in themselves.

Cost: $55 for a one-on-one (individual) fifty minute lesson. Ask about small group sessions if required.
